Retreat Home in the Nantahala River Gorge

AN OUTDOOR ENTHUSIAST’S DREAM
Bryson City, NC in Western North Carolina –

Restorative Retreats is the steward of a four bedroom retreat home (sleeps 10) in the Nantahala National Forest. Nantahala is Cherokee Land and means “place of the noonday sun.” Less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail and less than two miles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, this retreat house is part of a thriving wilderness community with many ways to engage with the natural world.

We find that being in nature can be really healing. We endeavor to make the retreat house available to movements and activists for building community and restorative time in nature to rest.

This space can accommodate groups of 10 people or less.

What People are Saying
”Our big crew loved Holly’s place! We had family coming in from different states to meet up and Holly graciously allowed an early check-in for one of our crew. The place was super clean! Smelled clean, was spotless, with clean linens. Towels and soaps on every pillow, coffee and teas provided, dry firewood stacked for use, hot tub was nice and clean and ready to go! The kitchen was ready with all utensils, gadgets, and spices. It’s a great space for a large group of people! We congregated on the back patio for smores and hot tubing, played cards and games a the picnic table on the porch. Plenty of napping was done on the porch swing and comfortable couches. Kitchen gatherings on the bar stools and kitchen chairs. It’s just a few minutes uphill from the NOC and all the outdoor activities. We highly recommend Holly’s place!” -Glen, a guest from June 9-12, 2023
